VISION

To exemplify and encourage Biblical family relationships through relationships with Christ and one another.

The mission, vision, and core values of Rose City Kids emerged after recognizing the greatest needs and struggles that young families face. We have discovered three areas of focus in caring for young families:

1. Families need time and space for relationship with Christ, both together as a family, and alongside a community of believers.

2. Families need guidance and best practices from knowledgeable mentors.

3. Families need a community to pool resources with, and mutually encourage each other.

MISSION

To engage and empower children and their families in Word and at Table.

A MINISTRY OF CARE

We provide quality care and valuable teaching to Rose City Kids as we also minister to the whole family.

We design events and activities to bring the family together.

Each family decides what is right for them. Children are welcome to stay in the service to worship alongside their family or care is available during the following times:

CORE VALUES

Togetherness: We desire Rose City Kids to be a place for families to be together within the intergenerational community of believers.

Patience: Loving the whole family as Jesus does.

Evangelism: Sharing the person and work of Jesus with children.

Equipping: Volunteers will be trained to equip children of every age group and in a variety of areas such as motor skills, attention skills, and social skills.

Safety: We make a promise to parents. We promise a safe, healthy environment for their children to engage and learn about God and each other.

Best Practices: We are committed to utilizing evidence-based best practices for reaching out to the families of our city.

FOUNDATIONAL VERSES

John 13:34

“I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other. This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, when you love each other.”

Philippians 2:12

Therefore, my loved ones, just as you always obey me, not just when I am present but now even more while I am away, carry out your own salvation with fear and trembling. God is the one who enables you both to want and to actually live out his good purposes. Do everything without grumbling and arguing so that you may be blameless and pure, innocent children of God surrounded by people who are crooked and corrupt. Among these people you shine like stars in the world 16 because you hold on to the word of life.

SUNDAY WORSHIP

Kids are welcome to stay with their parents in the worship service or join other children for a time of teaching, crafts, music and games.

2-4 years: All Service (10:00-11:30am)

K-2nd Grade: After worship music until end of service (approx. 10:30am-11:30am).

OUR FUTURE TOGETHER

We believe the Spirit of God is at work among the ordinary people of God. Therefore, we look forward to changing together and we hope to grow Rose City Kids with a unified vision. For example, we expect to begin a 3rd-5th Grade discussion group during the sermon. And we look forward to serving our parents by providing a “Date Night” perhaps once a quarter.

We will develop Rose City Kids together.
